On March 18, Spain passed a groundbreaking euthanasia law. But the law collides with the resistance of some, from politics and from medicine.
Fernando was diagnosed with ALS 13 years ago, although he has had symptoms for 16. Today we are going to listen to him, although we are not always going to fully understand what he says: ALS prevents him from moving even the muscles of his mouth to vocalize. Fernando is 50 years old and wants to avail himself of the right to euthanasia that the new law gives him, but even now it is not easy. Álvaro Medina, editor of elDiario.es, has been at home with him and with Carolina, his wife.
