In the Eurovision Song Contest there is a different yardstick for Israel. Russia has been expelled from the contest since it invaded the Ukraine and, nevertheless, the Israeli representative acted at the same time that the army of the country of hers bombarded the Gaza Strip without anything happening. It is said that Eurovision is not only a musical reference but also promotes values of diversity and respect, but swallows with Israel what it does not consent to with Russia.
We spoke with Marcos Bartolomé, journalist, international analyst and Master of Arab Studies at Georgetown University (USA), and with Javier Biosca, head of the International section at elDiario.es, we better understand what Israeli society is like beyond the image that Tel Aviv projects.
