In Panama, 489,695 confirmed accumulated cases are reported, of which 1,354 are new cases, according to the epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
In the last 24 hours there were two deaths and a previous date is updated for an accumulated of 7,421 deaths and a fatality of 1.5%.
In the last hours, 12,350 tests were applied to a positivity of 11%.
Active cases total 7,858, of which 7,691 are in home isolation and 167 hospitalized. Those who are in isolation are divided into 7,528 at home and 163 in hotels. There are 147 hospitalized in the ward and 20 in the ICU.
Those recovered amount to 474,416 with 439 new recovereds.
Given the increase in cases of Covid-19 infections and in order to reduce the spread of the virus in the country, the Minsa announced the suspension of the Thousand Polleras parade, an activity that was scheduled for the month of January 2022.
He also reiterated the call to avoid crowds and reinforce biosecurity measures in the presence of the Omicron variant.
