Summer is here and therefore the holidays are just around the corner. Perhaps, after more than a year where mobility has been limited, we are more eager than ever to portray those moments with our camera.
Five cameras at a good price to take beastly photos
The most normal thing, in this type of case, is to go for a compact camera since they are small and it is easy to get one for a tight budget –as we explain in our guide to choosing a camera–. There are also some “entry” mirrorless that do not exceed 500 eurosmore designed for those who want to give photography a little more.
In ConsumptionClaro, we recommend four cameras that, for up to 600 euros, could become your best companion during the trip or end up dazzling you in the world of photography.
We start this list with the Sony DSX-HX90, a compact camera of just over 500 euros that stands out both for its quality and its size. It has a 30x optical zoom and both WiFi and NFC connection, so it is really easy to transfer the photos to the mobile.
In addition, it has a 5-axis image stabilization system and frame analysis, along with an OLED electronic viewfinder that retracts. The screen, for its part, is not touch, but it can be rotated 180 degrees to, for example, take selfies.
The most striking thing, as we said before, is its size: dimensions of 10.2 x 5.8 centimeters with a weight of 245 grams. To make it more visual: it fits in practically any pocket.
This makes it, along with its price, the best option for those looking, above all, for a small camera to always carry with them. Either during a trip or because street photography is one of our passions.
When we talk about taking a powerful camera with us for a trip, the compact ones can fall a bit short. For this reason, in an intermediate step between these and reflex/mirrorless, we find the bridge cameras. For around 449 euros (see offers), the Lumix FZ300 is an option that combines simplicity and power.
It is a camera that records in 4K and has a 12.1 megapixel MOS sensor, in addition to one 25-600mm lens (NOT interchangeable). This makes it a perfect camera for details (or objects at long distances), without sacrificing quality – as happens with some compact cameras, which are digital from a certain zoom range.
Although it is considerably larger and heavier (they are more than 600 grams), it does not become uncomfortable. Being a fixed lens, we gain space and weight, since we will not need to carry several lenses as with mirrorless.
And mirrorless come into play with the Sony a6000. for 554 eurosthis mirrorless camera is perfect for those who want a powerful body, with interchangeable lenses, and are looking to give more free rein or “professionalize” their equipment a bit.
The a6000 is a very small camera, 12 x 6.7 centimeters and 285 grams of weight, which serves as an introduction to the world of interchangeable lens bodies. The standard pack includes a 16-50mm lens that performs really well for travel and beginners. Although if we like to get details or distant objects, it will not help us.
Regarding the camera, it has an APS-C sensor and an autofocus system with 179 points, which makes it much easier to use. In addition, it has a WiFi and NFC connection, along with a remote control system from the mobile.
Therefore, the Sony a6000 is the best option for those who want to start in photography or are looking for a body that is much more versatile than the compact ones.
Now, if what we are looking for is a camera to record our adventures during the holidays, then the best option is a GoPro. For 349 euros (see more offers)the Hero8 is surely the best quality / price sports camera.
It is a very small body that records in 4K at 60 frames per second – or 2K at 120 fps or 1080p at 240 fps – but also has a photo mode with HDR and results in RAW format. In addition to NFC connection to transfer videos and images to the mobile.
Among the most striking features of this model is the voice control, available in 14 languages, which allows us to use the camera without having to pick it up – for example, if we place it on our forehead. Although it is a very specific model, compared to the previous ones, it must be taken into account if we are interested in, instead of taking photographs, editing our own videos.
