574 new cases of Covid-19 are registered and positivity rises to 8.9%


In Panama, 488,341 accumulated cases are counted until December 27 confirmed Covid-19, of which 574 are new cases. In the last 24 hours they report two deaths for a cumulative of 7,418 deaths by Covid-19 and a lethality of 1.5%, details the report prepared by the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa)

In the last hours 6,388 tests were applied for a 8.9% positivity.

There are a total of 6,946 active cases, of which 6,779 are in home isolation and 167 hospitalized. Those who are in isolation are divided into 6,624 at home and 155 in hotels. There are 148 hospitalized in the ward and 19 in the ICU.

The total of recovered amounts to 473,977 people, of which 258 are new recovered.

In the world, 280,429,360 accumulated confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 5,418,875 deaths for a fatality of 2%.

The Minsa reminded the organizers of activities that they must comply with the provisions of Decree 859 that esets the capacity of 100% and 50% capacity.

In events at 100% capacity, organizers must monitor the entrance only of people vaccinated with two doses, including the workers of the premises.

In these activities with a capacity of 100%, biosafety measures must be complied with against Covid-19.
