67,065 passengers were transported by sea during National Dates

The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), reinforced its security operations, on the occasion of the National Holidays. This with the aim of safeguarding the safety of navigation and protecting human life at sea.

According to preliminary figures, the movement of passengers by sea has been about 67,065 passengers, on 6,907 trips carried out at the national level, without incidents to regret, broken down as follows:

Wednesday, November 3, 12,925 passengers in 1,254 trips.

Thursday 4th of November, 13,147 passengers in 1,397 trips.

Friday 5th of November, 17,211 passengers in 1,764 trips.

Saturday, November 6, 12,342 passengers in 1,436 trips.

Sunday, November 7, 11,440 passengers on 1,056 trips.

The most popular sites, by the visitors were:

Province of Bocas del Toro, the movement of passengers to Isla Colón, Almirante and Chiriquí Grande, has been 24,353 people.

Province of Panama, bound for the island of Taboga were transferred 10,335 persons.

Province of Colón, bound for La Guaira and Isla Grande, they moved 8,267 persons.

Irregularities detected in vessels:

In this same period of time, only 2 boat owners were cited in Admiral for not having the name on the boat, in addition to another ship for expired documents and license.

The operation of National Holidays, consisted of guaranteeing that all ships dedicated to the transport of passengers complied with the security measures, pFor this reason, a foot of force of 130 units pTo reinforce their presence in the main docks, ports and berths nationwide and verify that the owners, operators or captains of the vessels, had their navigation permit, current security certificate to be able to set sail and maintain all security measures required for navigation.
