70% of Salvadoran population does not trust bitcoin, says survey


According to a survey carried out by the University Institute of Public Opinion (IUDOP), 70.1% of the Salvadoran population has some distrust related to bitcoin as legal tender.

The studio points out that 34.8% of the population has no confidence in cryptocurrency, as well as 35.3% have little confidence. However, 13.2% show some confidence and 14.1% revealed that they have a lot of confidence.

The research of (IUDOP) was made between December 7th and 17th according to a sample of 1,298 interviews nationwide. According to the institute, the confidence level is 95% with a margin of error of approx.

Adoption

On September 7th, bitcoin became legal tender in El Salvador. After 2 months, President Nayib Bukele announced the construction of Bitcoin City.

Few months have passed since the adoption, there is much to be built ahead.

Maintaining skepticism about this “experiment” will be necessary.
