A Boeing Co 737 cargo plane with two people on board made an emergency landing in the ocean off the coast of Honolulu, Hawaii, early Friday morning, the US aviation safety regulator said.

‘The pilots had reported engine problems and they were trying to return to Honolulu when they were forced to land the plane in the water, “the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States said in a statement.

«According to preliminary information, the United States Coast GuardUnited rescued both crewmembers». The plane was operated by Rhodes Express. CNBC previously reported that a Boeing 737 had fallen into the water. The Boeing company has so far not made any comment.

After this incident, Boeing shares fell 2%

Regulators cleared the flight of Boeing’s 737 MAX late last year after staying on the ground for 20 months after two accidents in which hundreds of people died.
