A forest firefighter dies in the Sierra Bermeja fire in Malaga

A forest firefighter has died this afternoon during the work of extinguishing the fire that is taking place in Sierra Bermeja, in the province of Malaga, as reported on Canal Sur Radio by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development, Carmen Crespo. The firefighter, 44, belonged to a checkpoint in Almería.

The number of evicted by the Sierra Bermeja fire, which affects the Malaga municipalities of Jubrique, Genalguacil, Estepona and Benahavís, continued to increase during the afternoon of this Thursday.

Thus, there are already a total of 939 people who have had to be evicted in a preventive way from the urbanizations and scattered in Estepona and Benahavís.
