Know more

The presenter and showman will take the stage at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de València and he will not be alone. You will talk with him Raphael Vidal, Valencian paellero master who has traveled the world to spread his wisdom and love for this recipe declared an Asset of Intangible Cultural Interest.

Cooking is a social activity that encourages the best conversations between friends. Vidal and Wyoming will chat over the stove while they prepare a real paella, nothing like “rice with things”. Spoon in hand, they will treat the public present in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento to a slow-cooked dialogue that leaves an unforgettable taste in the mouth.

Access to this conversation, like the rest of the Festival’s activities, It is free and for all audiences.

In addition, during the three days of talks, concerts, interviews and shows that will take place in Valencia, we will have the best master of ceremonies in the different scenes of the city. The Valencian comedian Mary John, actress and stand-up comedian, she will be the common thread between the different activities and will surprise the audience with her capacity for improvisation and humour.

On the Festival’s speakers website you can find out the names of the different personalities who will join the celebration of these 10 years of independent journalism.

Raphael Vidal

Rafael Vidal is the soul of Levante restaurants and has been cooking rice dishes since 1968. He has toured the Valencian Community in search of the common denominator of the authentic paella of the terreta and the particularities of each locality. From Washington to Las Vegas, passing through New York, Vidal has collaborated with great chefs such as chef José Andrés to promote this icon of our gastronomy outside our borders and move it away from clichés.

Greater Wyoming

José Miguel Monzón, known as the Great Wyoming, is a humorist, television presenter, actor, musician, showmanwriter and columnist. The program just launched You are here, in which he travels the Spanish geography together with David Trueba to reflect with different personalities on the issues that interest and concern us. On the 10th anniversary of elDiario.es, Wyoming will change the suspenders for an apron and add its secret ingredients to the rice: a good dose of acidity in the form of humor, three cups of irony, and mordity on demand.

Mary John

The Valencian actress and monologist has been on stage for 10 years, where she has starred in numerous television, theater, cabaret and stand-up shows. She formed her own company and creates and produces her own shows. Her ability to improvise has made her a show woman all terrain. He combines his shows with collaboration in various programs (Comedians, Assumptes Interns Y To evil nom bona cara) on the Valencian regional television À Punt. She will be the master of ceremonies for the elDiario.es Festival.

The celebration of independent journalism, in the heart of the city

The conversation between Wyoming and Rafa Vidal will take place outdoors and in the heart of the city: the Valencia City Hall Square. In this square, many more things are going to happen that you won’t want to miss: interviews, round tables, concerts, shows and music, all with Maria Juan as master of ceremonies, and free access open to the public.

Some of the most important buildings in the city are gathered around this square, such as the headquarters of the Valencia City Council, in an eclectic style.

Where the important thing happens is elDiario.es. That is why it is the main stage chosen for our Festival. The central square is a meeting point for Valencian men and women throughout the year and also where the most important celebrations of the city take place, such as the traditional mascletàs de las Fallas.

A few meters away is the beautiful Palace of Communicationswhich will also host interviews, talks, shows and activities, such as the MIC (Inspiring Monologues for Change).

Soon we will reveal the complete program and new personalities, national and international, which will join the celebration of the 10th anniversary of elDiario.es. And along with the talks and interviews, there will be concerts, workshops and shows that will surprise you.
