A man arrested in Madrid for mistreating his wife and children using chemical submission

The Madrid Municipal Police arrested a 47-year-old man last Tuesday for mistreating and drugging his 41-year-old wife and their two children, aged 10 and 13, in an apartment in the Madrid neighborhood of Villaverde Alto.

The facts were discovered after the Villaverde District Comprehensive Unit received a call from a neighbor due to loud screams resulting from a fight between a father and his young son. The agents arrived at the flat, located on Carrer de Godella, and he met with the father, who stated that he had had a strong argument with his wife.

Indeed, the victim acknowledged that her husband had pushed her against the wall and had attacked her in the head, a behavior that she claimed was frequent. In addition, she told the police that for weeks she had noticed a strange taste in the food and in the tea they drank, but that her husband said that nothing was wrong. Since then, she and her children suffered from dizziness and indigestion.

Following these indications, they asked for reinforcements and the Police found traces of psychotropic substances in a room where only the husband entered. For all this, he was arrested for a crime of gender violence and another against health.

Subsequently, according to the newspaper ‘El Mundo’, the Municipal Police transferred the mother and her two children to the 12 de Octubre Hospital, where the chemical submission protocol was initiated for both the mother and the minors. The two minors were transferred to the pediatric emergency room. They have already been discharged.

The Municipal Police has made a report of the case and delivered the proceedings at the National Police station in the district of Usera Villaverde. The envelopes with the pink substance found have been referred to the Toxicological Institute for analysis.

Yesterday, the victim filed a restraining order in which it is reflected that the two minors have tested positive for toxicological substances in blood. Neighbors say that fights and shouting were frequent in that house.
