A man stabbed to death his ex-wife in Dos Hermanas (Seville)

The woman admitted to the hospital in critical condition due to multiple stab wounds after a violent altercation with her ex-partner in the Montequinto neighborhood, belonging to Dos Hermanas (Seville), died this Saturday after being operated on urgently.

The National Police has classified the crime as a case of sexist violence, which raises the number of women murdered so far this year to 42 in Spain, 11 in Andalusia. The victim was in the Comprehensive Monitoring System in cases of Gender Violence (VioGén System), of the Secretary of State for Security of the Ministry of the Interior. The woman had filed a complaint against her ex-husband and, as a consequence, a judge had imposed protection measures, including a restraining order that the murderer finally violated, confirm sources from the Government Delegation in Andalusia.

The latest update of fatalities from machismo registered by the Ministry corresponds to the confirmation of the case of gender violence of a 48-year-old woman, allegedly murdered by her partner in Albacete on December 10. The victim had no underage sons or daughters.

As confirmed by Police sources, the woman stabbed in the Seville municipality has died around 6:00 this morning. As responsible for her injuries, she has finally been arrested for attempted murder of her ex-partner, the man admitted to a hospital with her, due to the stab wounds that both had. The detainee will go to court throughout this Saturday.

The events took place around 8 am this Friday, according to the National Police, in the area of ​​the Sector Triángulo urbanization, where a man and a woman were injured by a knife. Both were hospitalized in serious condition, she even in critical condition, later confirming the National Police that it was a case of gender violence, before which the agents have arrested the man for the crime of attempted homicide and breach of measure precautionary, committed on his sentimental ex-partner.

The arrested man is in police stations and is expected to go to court this Saturday. The victim was operated on urgently and was stable, until she finally passed away.
