The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested an agent of the Catalan police force on Tuesday for having tried to kill his partner. The events occurred around 1:15 p.m. in Vilassar de Dalt, in the province of Barcelona.
Mossos sources have explained that the victim’s life is not in danger and that they have already opened an investigation to clarify the event.
According to TV3, it is a mosso who works at the body’s headquarters in Egara (Sabadell) and who would have stabbed the woman, who is safe. Immediately afterwards, the agent would have called the 112 emergency telephone number saying that the woman had cut herself.
The Minister of the Interior, Joan Ignasi Elena, has lamented the events and has called for “zero tolerance” with sexist violence, linking this request to the International Women’s Day that is celebrated this Tuesday. He has done it through a tweet on Twitter: “Zero tolerance with sexist violence, always and everywhere. Enough is enough. All the support for the victim. # 8M”.
