About 10,000 Russian soldiers return to their permanent bases after training in areas near Ukraine

The Russian Defense Ministry has reported that about 10,000 Russian soldiers will return to their bases members of the Southern Military District (one of the five in existence) after a month of training in the region, which includes areas near the border with Ukraine.

The exercises were carried out throughout the district, including in the Crimea and Rostov regions, which border Ukraine, according to a statement published this Saturday on the website of the Russian Defense Ministry and collected by the Bloomberg agency.

Ukraine estimates that 122,000 Russian soldiers are within 200 kilometers of their shared border, up from about 100,000 just a few weeks ago.
