Aldi, John Lewis, Sainsbury’s and more will close stores on Boxing Day but some still plan sales-here’s the full info

Some retailers plan to open on Boxing Day-and they’ve already begun sales

Not all retailers will close on Boxing Day though. H&M and IKEA, for example, told us they plan to open on 26 December, although both stores have already begun their Boxing Day sales.

H&M is offering shoppers up to 50% off selected items online-we’ve asked if there is currently an in store sale too, and if so, what the discount is, and we will update this story when we know more. Meanwhile, IKEA has up to 50% off both online and in-store. Online-only retailer ASOS also has an up to 70% off Boxing Day sale live on its website.

See our Boxing Day Sales 2021 round-up for a full list of retailers with sales currently on. You can also check our Christmas Deals Predictor tool for when we expect major sales to start. Plus, our Cheap Online Shopping guide includes more than 40 tips to slash the cost of buying online.

But as we say every year, only ever buy what you need and can afford. If you can’t afford it, DON’T buy it. Plus, just because something is in the sale doesn’t mean it’s good value-always compare prices first.
