Amazon put 400,000 potentially dangerous products on sale | Digital Trends Spanish

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has filed a lawsuit against Amazon for selling defective products from outside sellers.

According to demand, collected by Bloomberg, Amazon sold potentially flammable children’s pajamas, carbon monoxide detectors that did not work, and hair dryers that were not properly insulated and could electrocute users. The CPSC alleges that all of these products posed a real risk of serious injury and even death to consumers.

“The vote to file an administrative complaint against Amazon was a huge step forward for this small agency,” CPSC Acting President Robert Adler said in a statement. However, it is a passage through a vast desert. “We must find a way to deal with these huge third-party platforms efficiently and decide how best to protect the American consumers who depend on them,” he added.

According to the source medium, Amazon has removed most of the products, but the CPSC says its actions are insufficient and is demanding a full recall. “The safety of our customers is a top priority. That’s why we take swift action to protect our consumers as soon as we become aware of a security-related issue, “Amazon spokeswoman Mary Kate McCarthy said in a statement in response to the CPSC lawsuit.

The company said it has already removed the products and notified customers of potential safety issues as well as advising them to destroy the products for which they will be provided full refunds.
