An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 with epicenter in the sea shakes the Gulf of Cádiz


An earthquake of intensity 5.4 on the Richter scale has shaken the Gulf of Cadiz last Sunday night, as reported by the National Geographic Institute (IGN).

Specifically, the earthquake occurred around 10:20 p.m., with latitude 35.9280, longitude -8.5681 and depth of 62 kilometers, as detailed by the agency.

For its part, Emergencies 112 Andalucía has specified, through its Twitter profile, that no personal or material damage has been reported. It has also indicated that it has received three calls from people who have felt the earthquake in the province of Huelva.

In fact, according to the National Geographic Institute, the earthquake has been felt with some intensity in towns such as Aljaraque, Bellavista, Cartaya, Punta Umbría, Isla del Moral, Chiclana de la Frontera or Ayamonte, among others.
