An envelope with a strange substance forces an evacuation of Apple Park | Digital Trends Spanish

According to NBC, part of the Apple Park in Cupertino, California, had to be evacuated after emergency teams found an envelope containing a strange substance (white powder).

The Santa Clara County Fire Department incident report shows there was a fire alarm and hazardous materials response at the tech company’s headquarters. However, after reviewing the area, the specialized personnel did not find anything dangerous.

“Officials later deemed the situation under control and said employees could go back inside. They did not immediately say what the substance was,” the report said.

According to an article in TheVerge, Apple reportedly told its workers that “authorities concluded that no hazardous materials were present.” The company also commented that operations are back to normal and that all sections are open.

Apple employees will have to return to face-to-face work on April 11, after office attendance was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic and the rise in the number of infections. In fact, most workers have spent the last two years working remotely.

Apple became one of the first companies to allow its employees to work virtually. The measure announced now was announced after Google’s intention to decree the return to offices on April 4 was revealed.
