An inspector ignored the report on failures at the Miami building



The search for survivors and victims among the remains of the edifice that collapsed last Thursday in the area of Miami continued this Monday, for the fifth consecutive day, amid the anguish of the families and with a question in the air: could the tragedy be avoided?

The American public radio station
has revealed that in 2018, just one month after a report alerted of structural damage to the building, a inspector from Surfside, the small municipality in which the damaged twelve-story tower is located, gave guarantees to the residents that the property was safe.
