An interpreter of a German chain breaks into tears while translating an intervention by Zelensky

The Russian offensive on Ukraine continues and the world media follows it minute by minute. But it is not easy to tell the war. This Saturday, an interpreter for a German media outlet could not help but burst into tears while she was translating one of the speeches by Ukrainian President Volodímir Zelenski.

The moment has been shared on Twitter by journalist Laura Moore and has gone viral with more than 12,000 ‘likes’ in just five hours. In the video you can see the image of Zelensky’s speech and you can hear the woman translate it: “Russia is going the wrong way, Russia must lose its vote in the EU. We Ukrainians know exactly what we are defending…” . At one point, given the translator begins to cry and asks “sorry” just before they cut that section and the presenter goes back to speaking.

After another night of terror for the Ukrainians, this Saturday the word negotiation takes shape on the fourth day since the invasion began. The delegations of Russia and Ukraine have anticipated that negotiations will take place in the town of Gomel, in Belarus. On the one hand, Ukraine has reported that it will do so without conditions on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, along the Pripyat River.

But on the other hand, Putin’s tone against Western countries has risen in volume: he has decided to put Russia’s deterrent forces, its nuclear forces, into “special service regime” after what he considers “aggressive statements” by major countries of NATO.

Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people are demonstrating around the globe against Putin’s moves and in favor of peace between the two territories.
