Andalusia allows full capacity in cinemas, theaters and auditoriums and forces processions to go through wide streets

The cultural sector is the most benefited by the relaxation in Andalusia of the measures imposed by the pandemic, since the expert committee meeting this Tuesday has decided that the theaters, cinemas and auditoriums expand their capacity to 100%, with the only requirements to maintain the greatest possible interpersonal distance and hygienic-sanitary conditions. This in practice means recovering normality for almost all purposes as of this Thursday, when measures come into force that are applicable in all level 1 territories, a situation in which the entire Andalusian territory enters.

In nightlife establishments the number of diners at indoor tables is equal in both level 2 and level 1, going from six to eight. Thus, they would be the same as in restoration for both levels. And on the beaches, the measures that imposed their night-time closure are eliminated at alert level 2.

Regarding religious worship, the capacity is increased to 100% in places of worship indoors, maintaining the greatest possible interpersonal distance. For processions on public roads, on the other hand, it is recommended that as few people as possible carry the images and that they have the complete vaccination schedule or certificate of recovery from the disease, in addition to wearing masks.

Likewise, the itineraries of the processions may not be long and they must cross roads or streets wide enough to avoid crowds of the public, avoiding narrow roads. The processional parades will have to take place on days and times that minimize a large influx of public and, in the case of being accompanied by music bands, measures must be taken to avoid crowds of the public.

Children’s and sports facilities

In children’s recreational establishments, two groups of users will be allowed to stay simultaneously, as long as they do not coincide in the same play area of the establishment. For example, one group will be allowed to have a snack and another in the ‘play-room’. The capacity is expanded to 100% in outdoor spaces and 75% indoors.

In sports facilities, the capacity may be 100% for physical-sports practice in conventional outdoor sports spaces and facilities, keeping 75% for indoors. Likewise, the limit for the completion of tests and unconventional sporting events is raised until 1 in the morning.

They also expand up to 100% of their capacity in the outdoor areas of establishments of zoological, botanical and geological activities, including aquariums, with 75% in closed spaces. Likewise, the gaming and betting venues match the timetable of the restaurant activity that takes place in them with that of the rest of the restaurant sector, allowing eight people at tables indoors and ten outdoors.

Selective tests and universities

As for the selective tests, the obligation of prior authorization from Public Health to carry out the oppositions of the public administrations of the Junta de Andalucía in person is left without effect. In parallel, the maximum number of participants per venue for these tests is canceled, although the security protocols remain in force.

Finally, Andalusian public and private universities will be able to continue developing their activity in person. In any case, they must adopt the organizational and preventive measures indicated by the health authority. In this sense, the measures for this 2021/22 academic year have been updated – in coherence with the update approved by the National Public Health Commission – with the aim of allowing the maximum presence of the students.

President’s message

In a video released by the Board at the end of the meeting, the Andalusian president, Juan Manuel Moreno, pointed out that the committee of experts had a more “optimistic” tone at its meeting this Tuesday in view of the data from the pandemic, since the incidence rate in the community is already 98 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. He has pointed out that, without a doubt, it is good news to enjoy culture again with a capacity from before the pandemic.

Moreno has once again appealed to Andalusians twelve years of age and older who have not yet been vaccinated to do so, and has indicated that although today we have good data on the pandemic, we must be prudent, “with confidence”, but “without lowering our guard against the virus.”

The Andalusian Government also emphasized that, regarding the vaccination campaign, in Andalusia coverage of 86.5% of the total Andalusian population over 12 years of age has already been achieved, having been achieved in the last two weeks a complete vaccination coverage of 73.1% in the age group from 20 to 29 years and exceeding 66.8% of complete coverage in the age group 12 to 19 years. In the coming days, greater coverage of complete vaccination is planned, higher than 80% in these age groups. Regarding the general population, 76.2% of the Andalusian population has the complete vaccination schedule.
