HBO Max has presented its latest production this year. Is about Station Eleven, a science fiction series that should hit the streaming platform on December 16.
The miniseries is one of the most anticipated Max Originals productions and is based on the novel of the same name by Emily St. John Mandel.
Station Eleven shows how a group of survivors tries to get ahead after a flu pandemic wiped out much of humanity, destroying civilization and rapidly expanding to all territories on the planet.
The series also shows the tasks that the protagonists must carry out to rebuild the new world and how they must deal with everything they have lost along the way.
Station Eleven stars Mackenzie Davis, Himesh Patel, Daniel Zovatto, David Wilmot, Matilda Lawler, Philippine Velge, Nabhaan Rizwan, and Lori Petty. The series also features guest appearances by Gael García Bernal and Danielle Deadwyler.
The direction was in charge of Patrick Somerville, whom we knew for having created Maniac and write some episodes of The Leftovers.
Filming of Station Eleven It began before the first cases of coronavirus were known in the world. In fact, HBO had to suspend the recordings in February of last year and resume them five months later.
This means that the actors managed to film several scenes at the worst moment of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The question that many critics are asking is whether this is the best time to premiere a series that is about a catastrophic pandemic and the end of the world.
