The detainee is 40 years old and is accused of the crime of attempted intentional homicide and a crime of threats. In addition to insults for his homosexuality, according to the complainant, the aggressor immobilized him from behind and made two deep cuts on his neck with the sharp object.

The victim had to be transferred to the Sagrat Cor University Hospital in Barcelona with serious neck injuries, which required several stitches. Subsequently, the victim requested in a statement a protection order against the detained person, since she had also threatened him with death.

The police investigation began on November 4, when the Central Unit for Hate Crimes and Discrimination became aware of the homophobic attack in the Sants neighborhood in the Catalan capital.

Finally, the arrest took place on November 10 and on the 12th the arrested person was handed over to Barcelona’s Investigating Court 22, which ordered his imprisonment.
