Showing off OLED and RAID

Professional laptops do not have to give up flashy options, and if there is one especially striking feature in these computers today, that’s the one with the OLED screens.

This is precisely the technology used in the panels of some of the variants of this equipment – there are also versions with more modest and less bright panels – and that is good news for professionals who want to take advantage of these. vivid colors and HDR support.

Hard drive RAID: what are they and their main types

These panels also feature anti-reflective technology and 100% DCI-P3 gamut support. In the ExpertBook B5 Flip there is an important difference with the standard version: the stylus holder to take notes or draw directly on screen.

The other big difference is that the ExpertBook B5 is not convertibleWhile the ExpertBook B5 Flip does and has a 360 ° hinge that allows it to be used in various positions, including the one that makes it a 14-inch tablet.

Expert6

In that spec sheet we find expected options such as the one that refers to its processors – 11th generation Intel Core, too bad, no AMD options-, and its memory configurations, which can reach 48 GB. The surprise comes in storage.

To begin with, because we have two M.2 PCIe slots that allow us to reach 2 TB of capacity. And to finish, because we have before us a team with support for RAID 0 and RAID 1, two configurations that allow you to get more performance or more security of the data (respectively) by combining those two slots with two of these drives.

There are also striking details in the field of video conferencing: microphone features noise cancellation technology, but we also have a 720p webcam that is somewhat modest in resolution but that promises good results also with that reduction of noise in the image. We also have a privacy switch to prevent possible cyberattacks that gain access to that camera without our knowing it.

Expert7

The connectivity is also good news, and we have several USB ports, an HDMI port, and a unique miniHDMI connector which is actually used not to connect monitors, but to connect the equipment to the cable network thanks to an adapter.

Biometrics is also covered with a fingerprint reader on the power button that we find on the right side. Integration of TPM 2.0 technology allows smooth upgrade to Windows 11, although the standard operating system is Windows 10 Pro.

In ASUS they also offer in some of the variants of these computers their touchpad with NumberPad 2.0 technology, the numeric keypad superimposed on the touch panel that avoids having to reserve physical space next to the keyboard.

Price and availability of the ASUS ExpertBook B5 and ExpertBook B5 Flip

The new ASUS ExpertBook B5 Flip are available from today on the official ASUS website. We do not know the starting price of the non-convertible model, which does not seem to be available at the moment.

Expert3

Los ASUS ExpertBook B5 Flip are available from 1,189 euros for the version with OLED panel with the Core i5-1135G7, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of capacity.
