Without launching a campaign to collect endorsements, last Wednesday Ayuso registered the necessary signatures at the party’s headquarters: a total of 150 of the 90 required to register a candidacy.

Among those 150 guarantees were those of all the district presidents of the city of Madrid, as well as those of the main municipalities of the region. Finally, a total of 6,039 have been registered until this Friday at 8:00 p.m., when the registration period for them ended.

The Organizing Committee of the Congress (COC) proclaimed this Friday Ayuso as the only candidate to preside over the training after verifying that she met the necessary requirements.

The agreement was adopted by the Organizing Committee at the meeting held yesterday at the regional headquarters of the Popular Party, once the deadline for submitting candidacies, set by the Congress regulations, had ended.

Once the proclamation has been made, and since there is only one candidacy, the COC has determined that the acts of presentation of said candidacy to the affiliates can begin this Sunday, May 1.
