Bankinter skyrockets its profit to 1,333 million euros, with the capital gain from Línea Directa


Bankinter today inaugurated the season for publishing the results of the Ibex 35 listed companies for the full 2021 financial year. Specifically, the bank has presented figures in which its total group net profit It has added 1,333 million euros, compared to 317 in 2020, and exceeding the expectations of analysts who expected the entity to achieve 1,320 million.

This amount includes the nearly 896 million euros of capital gains generated with the separation of Linea Directa in April last year and its IPO. If we exclude this item, the net profit reaches 437 million euros, growing 38% compared to the previous year.

The operating margin adds 1,002 million euros, which represents a growth of 14% compared to 2020, a record figure and that “demonstrates the good evolution of the business with customers in the year”, Bankinter said in a note issued to the CNMV.

In management ratios the ROE 9.6%, without extraordinary items and the efficienciesat 46% “they remain among the best in the sector and the return for the shareholder in the year grows by 38%, not including the dividend yield”.

In the Comercial activity, 2021 was also a year of growth: mortgage production +58%, fundraising +12% and investment funds +30% and this is also happening in all geographies: Spain now with EVO, Portugal, Ireland and Luxembourg.
