beetlejuice 2 is already in full production phase, the sequel to the successful 1988 film will be directed by Tim Burtonand will be released in September 2024. The original film told the story of a ghost couple who hire an eccentric being called Beetlejuice to scare the new inhabitants of their house.
In this new installment, Beetlejuice returns to cause more trouble, this time with the daughter of Lydia Deetz, the young woman who befriended the ghosts in the first movie. Lydia’s daughter, played by Jenna Ortegais a curious and rebellious teenager who is interested in the paranormal world and ends up summoning Beetlejuice, without knowing the consequences that this can bring.
The film also features the return of michael keaton and Winona Ryder, who reprise their roles as Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz, respectively. The script is written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the co-creators of the Wednesday series, based on the Addams Family character.
Catherine O’Hara is also among the returnees, while Justin Theroux and Monica Bellucci are among the new arrivals.
The latest addition is Willem Dafoe, who would be a law enforcement officer from the afterlife.
Warner announced Tuesday that the film will be released on September 6, 2024.
