The Argentine Football Association (GRANDPA) closed a deal with the world’s largest exchage, Binance, which will become one of the main sponsors of the national men’s soccer team. It is a five-year contract, so it will include the 2022 and 2026 World Cups.
Through its official Twitter account, Binance announced that it will be the new “global main sponsor” of the ensemble directed by Lionel Scaloni, so Lionel Messi and company will wear the name of the exchange on their clothing during the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
On the other hand, as part of the new agreement, Binance to launch a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT) for fans of the national team, which will have an exclusive Marketplace within the platform. What’s more, there will also be a fan tokens available to users, with whom they can make decisions involving the team: what messages will appear in the locker room, what songs will be played at halftime, and so on.

“Soccer and cryptocurrencies are life in Argentina, so it makes sense for Binance to partner with the AFA”, expressed He Yi, co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Binance. And I add: “Through this agreement, we hope to support Argentine soccer at all levels and introduce Binance, the crypto world and the blockchain to soccer fans throughout the country and the world”.
Claudio Tapia, president of the AFA, also expressed his enthusiasm after partnering with a platform that hosts more than 28.6 million users and noted: “In recent years we have added many important commercial agreements, significantly increasing AFA’s income, in addition to venture into new digital businesses with ample growth potential”.
