The Brazilian Ministry of Health has reduced this Saturday the number of daily COVID-19 infections with 48,520 cases registered on the last day.

Since the start of the pandemic, the country has reported 22,975,723 people infected with the disease.

The health authorities have reported 175 deaths in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths to 621,000 throughout the pandemic.

The figures also show 656,934 patients under follow-up and 21,697,818 people recovered from the disease.

The Brazilian authorities confirmed on January 4 the first cases of ‘flurona’, a coronavirus infection and flu at the same time, making it the first country in America to notify this type of double contagion within the framework of the pandemic.
