BRASILIA — Brazil’s central bank said it will transfer 71.7 billion reais ($13.86 billion) to the Treasury by March 7 after its annual result was approved on Thursday by the National Monetary Council (CMN).

The total result for 2021 was positive at 85.9 billion reais, with 14.2 billion reais coming from reserves and foreign exchange derivatives operations, and 71.7 billion reais from “other operations,” the central bank said.

The CMN is Brazil’s highest economic policy body, comprising Economy Minister Paulo Guedes, central bank chief Roberto Campos Neto and special Treasury and Budget secretary Esteves Colnago.
