‘Call of Duty’ gets serious with cheaters: they can be permanently blocked in all games in the series

‘Call of Duty’ is a competitive game and as such prone to users using cheats to win. ‘Warzone’, his Battle Royale, has also come under fire precisely because of the presence of cheaters. So with the release of ‘Call of Duty: Vanguard‘the company announced a new anti-cheat system: Ricochet Anti-Cheat.

This is, in a way, similar to the one Riot Games uses in ‘Valorant’. Operates at the kernel level, so you have access to more resources and greater ability to detect suspicious behavior. Cheats have a great challenge to overcome and from the company they have already made it clear that they won’t have any mercy with the one who crosses the line.

Have you cheated? Outside the franchise

And it is that Activision has updated your security and compliance policy from ‘Call of Duty: Vanguard’ to toughen retaliation against those who cheat. As Activision slides:

“Extreme or repeated breaches of security policy, such as cheating in the game, may result in permanent suspension of all accounts. Also, any attempt to conceal, disguise or obfuscate your identity or the identity of your devices. hardware can also lead to a permanent suspension.

Permanent suspensions for security breaches can now apply to the entire franchise, including ‘Call of Duty: Vanguard’ as well as any past, present and future title in the ‘Call of Duty’ franchise. “

In other words, from now on (the change is already reflected in the policy of ‘Call of Duty: Vanguard’) cheating can be expensive, as expensive as being blocked from the entire franchise. That is, the player can stay out not only of the current game, but of those that he had already bought or all those that are to come.

As explained from the development team, ‘Warzone’ will be the first game to receive Ricochet, the new anti-cheat system. It will roll out alongside the Pacific Update in December. As for ‘Call of Duty: Vanguard’, the system will be added later.
