The Junta de Castilla y León has awarded three companies, CSM, Ambuibérica and Biorama, emergency contracts to perform antigen test screening in 12 mobile units that will start operating on January 4 in the Community. Two of these companies belong to former officials of the Popular Party. This is the case of Ambuibérica, a company that is also a concessionaire of health transport in the Community and that accumulates labor disputes and sentences against it, not only in Castilla y León. At present it is in the process of an audit agreed by all the groups of the Cortes of Castilla León. Its founder is Carlos Magdaleno, former mayor of Mayorga (Valladolid) and former provincial deputy.
Biorama Guijuelo SL is managed by Francisco Julián Ramos, former mayor of Guijuelo (Salamanca) and former court attorney for 11 years. Ramos has attended elDiario.es and explained that his political activity, which he left “three years ago” has “nothing to do” with the award of a contract through the emergency procedure. Thus, it has specified that Biorama “has been providing laboratory services for 20 years, 11 according to the commercial register, and that it is recognized by organizations such as the Higher Sports Council, since it has been” the only laboratory worldwide “that “He has dared” to carry out COVID-19 analyzes in an event such as the Vuelta Ciclista a España. Ramos has also commented that he himself contacted the Junta de Castilla y León when he heard that the president of the Junta, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, announced that massive tests would be carried out.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Development indicates that emergency emergency contracts “are made by the General Secretary according to criteria of immediate availability and experience” and that “there are no inclusion or exclusion criteria” due to the political activity of their owners.
