Catalonia lowers the contagion threshold to maintain the curfew in 148 municipalities

The Generalitat de Catalunya continues to bet on night mobility restrictions as a recipe to reduce infections. This Tuesday the Government has once again lowered the maximum fire threshold in half, so that in the municipalities that have more than 125 cases in recent days the curfew is maintained for the next week, as well as those that remain totally surrounded by localities with this index. Thus, with the new criteria, a total of 148 municipalities will maintain the curfew, 28 less than those that have had it in the last two weeks.

The extension of the restrictions, agreed within the framework of the Procicat, must be endorsed by the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia, which so far has not posed a problem in imposing a curfew in as many municipalities as the Government has claimed in the past. July 14. If it is approved, the measure will take effect on August 20, with a validity of seven days. In addition, the Government will maintain the prohibition of meetings of more than 10 people and the closure of bars, restaurants and all activities at 00:30 hours
