Restricting meals earlier in the day does not affect the weight of a group of overweight adults with diabetes, according to a study carried out at Johns Hopkins University.
The results of this discovery will be presented at the scientific sessions of the American Heart Association that will take place this week.
"We have long wondered whether eating during the day affects how the body uses and stores energy," said study author Dr. Nisa M. Maruthur, associate professor of medicine, epidemiology and nursing. from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
Together with her colleagues, the professional followed a group of 41 overweight adults during a 12-week study.
