Chrysler Airflow Graphite Concept Revealed in New York | Digital Trends Spanish

When Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, said at the end of February what the future of Chrysler was insured, also mentioned that he had seen a couple of his upcoming models and that they were really beautiful. At the time, no one doubted that one of those vehicles was the Airflow, foreshadowed by the Chrysler Airflow Concept revealed by the brand in January. during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 in Las Vegas.

We were all hoping to see the production version at the 2022 New York Auto Show, but Chrysler decided to keep us waiting a bit longer by revealing a variant, the Chrysler Airflow Graphite Concept. It is basically the same vehicle revealed in Las Vegas, but with a slightly modified front end and a different finish.

The front of the new concept revealed in New York is the illuminated element in the front grille, which lacks the outline of the traditional Chrysler winged emblem, which was replaced by a pattern that is replicated in the center of the steering wheel, the medallions of the wheels and on the vehicle’s ignition button.

The Airflow Graphite Concept is painted in Galaxy Black, in contrast to the white color of the Las Vegas model. Chrysler says the new look is inspired by “a sophisticated urban mindset that feels right at home cruising amid big city skylines.” Designers added copper accents to the upper door edges and 22-inch wheels.

In the cabin, the dominant color is a light gray called Ice Grey, but copper accents abound. The concept features individual screens for each occupant, similar to the original concept, allowing each passenger to make video calls with the individual integrated cameras. The STLA AutoDrive system, which enables level 3 semi-autonomous driving and was developed in cooperation with BMW, also returns to the second concept.

The Airflow Graphite Concept’s drivetrain is the same as the original, with two electric motors, one on each axle, providing all-wheel drive capability and peak power in excess of 400 horsepower. According to Chrysler, the battery was designed to achieve up to 400 miles of range on a single charge.

Chrysler didn’t say when the production Airflow will be revealed, but it can’t be too far off. The manufacturer aims to only produce electric cars by the end of the current decade, but currently all its models have an internal combustion engine.
