A large influx of people came from the early hours this Thursday to receive their booster dose at the Los Andes shopping center, located in San Miguelito, with the aim of increasing their protection against COVID-19 and its variants.
Yaritzel Rios, Regional Director of Health of San Miguelito, said that different vaccination points have been enabled in the district so that people can go to apply their booster dose and reduce the impact of the Omicron variant in the country.
Among the fixed vaccination posts are Los Andes Mall, Torrijos Carter health center, in the Manuel María Valdés and Generoso Guardia polyclinic, in Santa Librada, from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. pm, and starting this Thursday at Metromall, where the process takes place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
He indicated that approximately 1,000 people have already been inoculated with the booster dose throughout the district.
Ríos reminded the population that the waiting time between the second dose and the booster dose is 3 months, after it was approved by the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, which was initially 6 months.
He mentioned that if the person does not have any doses, they can go to any vaccination center to get immunized.
The vaccine is to avoid any complications, it is safe and it is available nationwide, ”said Ríos.
He warned the population not to relax with biosecurity measures such as preserving the use of masks, using a face shield in public transport, and avoiding places where there is no crowding.
He maintained the importance that during these holidays we stay at home, in the family bubble so as not to be infected by people who have the disease and are asymptomatic.
Finally, he stressed that the Minsa, through the San Miguelito regional direction of Health, will reinforce surveillance operations to minimize non-compliance with established sanitary and biosafety regulations.
