The mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, has assured that at the event in Valencia last weekend – where she met with the Vice President of the Government, Yolanda Díaz; the vice president of the Valencian Generalitat, Mónica Oltra; the leader of Más Madrid, Mónica García, and the spokesperson for the Movement for Dignity and Citizenship in Ceuta, Fátima Hamed Hossain – “a State project was materialized, which wants to add more than ever and where no one is superfluous.”
He said it this Saturday at the opening of the III National Assemblea de los comuns, which is held this Saturday and Sunday in Barcelona, and in which he will renew his leadership at the head of the organization together with the leader of the comuns in the Parliament, Jéssica Albiach, and the former mayor of Casteldefells (Barcelona), Candela López.
On the first day of the Assemblea, which was also attended by the Minister of Universities, Manuel Castells, Colau called to “reweave alliances” and consolidate a project that citizens need, and has described this new project as unstoppable.
“The illusion of Valencia is yours,” claimed Colau, who has highlighted both the work of Díaz, who is placed at the head of this new platform, and that of the coalition government, where he considers that it has been shown that if the purple They are decisive in the institutions they do things that they had always been told were impossible.
He has demanded an end “once and for all” with the labor reform, and has defended measures such as the ERTE and the increases in the interprofessional minimum wage (SMI) carried out by the Ministry led by Yolanda Díaz.
“NEW STAGE IN CATALUNYA”
He thanked the group of commons in the Parliament, headed by Albiach, for years of polarization in Catalonia and that they have demonstrated their perseverance in an agenda to get out of the crisis: “They told us it was impossible, and the pardons, the dialogue table. We already see the light and a new stage that Catalonia needs, “he defended.
Colau has affirmed that she is proud to be mayor of the state capital “which is doing more public housing”, with more social investment and social innovation, and has regretted that there is a lot of noise, in her words, about her management in the City Council.
He has called for green and environmental policies from municipalism, after which the “leadership” of the mayor of El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona), Lluís Mijoler, to stop the expansion of the Barcelona Airport, and that of the mayor of Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona), Lidia Muñoz, when getting the train buried.
“It is time to consolidate and win to transform and show that it can be done”, has settled Colau, who has called on the commons to take advantage of the opportunity of the next municipal and general elections in 2023, and set their roadmap in this Assemble.
