Congratulations, UNAM! They present a Lottery ticket to commemorate the 100 years of their shield and motto

The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) presented this Wednesday a National Lottery ticket to commemorate the 100 years of its shield and motto.

In the unveiling of the banknote, Leonardo Lomelí Vanegas, secretary of the country’s Highest House of Studies, stressed that it will have a national circulation.

He recalled that the shield is made up of a map of Latin America and that it is supported by nopales and a condor, and supported by an allegory of the volcanoes and the Aztec eagle.

He pointed out that the legend “By my race the spirit will speak”, taken from the Mexican writer and thinker José Vasconcelos, sought to signify the conviction that “our race” would develop a culture of new trends.
