Correos reminds that it has suspended shipping and delivery of parcels to Europe, Asia and Oceania

The General Post Office of Panama informed, through a statement, that the international parcel shipping and delivery service to Europe, Asia, Oceania is still suspended.

The decision, recalled the General Post Office, was adopted in 2020 due to the closure of the Tocumen International Airport due to the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) and the total suspension of flights to Panama, however, he clarified that parcel shipments to various countries of the American continent have already been reactivated.

“To date, 19 destinations have been reactivated in America; however, we have not had availability of flights to Europe. Our Institution will continue to carry out the pertinent steps to solve this problem as soon as possible ”, indicated the General Directorate of Post.

According to the institution, Post offices in different countries have been contacted to provide the transit service for these dispatches to Europe, Asia and Oceania. In addition, tender documents have been drawn up so that interested parties with the capacity to transport cargo to those destinations can participate, the entity said.

“It is important to highlight that Correos entities worldwide are returning to normal, so they also have limitations in the mobility of their cargo and we in Panama have weight restrictions for our current destinations, which affects operations worldwide, “added the General Post Office.
