Cortizo Cohen announces the arrival of 60 thousand pediatric anti-Covid-19 doses


The president of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, announced the arrival of 60,000 doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer to immunize children between 5 and 11 years of age.

These pediatric doses are supposed to arrive this Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 11:15 pm

The president recalled that, to date, Panama has received a total of 9,091,470 doses and more than 6,297,894 have been applied.

“With anticipation, and in a timely manner, we acquire for the entire population the vaccines of Pfizer and AstraZeneca, which assures us that Panama today has more than 81.4% of its target population vaccinated with 2 doses, “he said.

He indicated that this also made it possible to advance with the third booster dose, and recently to take the measure of reducing 6 to 3 months, the minimum period required between the second and third booster doses.
