COVID indicators decrease with an incidence in people over 60 years of age below 250 cases

The indicators of the coronavirus continue to decline. Since last Friday, the Ministry of Health has recorded 12,162 new cases of COVID, a figure markedly lower than the 13,582 infections registered in the previous report. Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 13,306,301 people have been infected in Spain.

By autonomies, Andalusia is the one that reports the most cases, with 1,812 infections. It is followed by the Valencian Community (1,698) and Catalonia (1,296).

How is the epidemic evolving and how are we regarding the 3rd wave?

Regarding the deceased, according to the portfolio directed by Carolina Darias, 181 have joined since Friday and in total there are already 111,906 people who have died since the start of the coronavirus outbreak in March 2020.

In terms of hospitalizations, it can also be highlighted a slight drop. It has gone from 5,402 on Friday to 5,138, according to data from this Tuesday. People who have required admission to the ICU reach the 354, less than on Friday, when there were 369 patients.

Regarding the incidence in people over 60 years of age per 100,000 inhabitants, this latest epidemiological report from Health reflects a decrease of cases, standing at 246.45, compared to 283.38 last Friday.
