In just 4 days, they already managed to collect 12,575 ether (ETH) -which is equivalent to more than 38 million dollars, making it already the largest fundraiser in the history of Juicebox Ethereum, the platform it operates on.

The organization’s goal is inspire a powerful network of solidarity and fight for the freedom of Julian Assange, as described by the site assangedao.org. With the money raised, the DAO will power a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) made by Assange together with the artist “Pak”.

Those who decide to finance the judicial bid in favor of the journalist will receive the token JUSTICE, with which they can choose the next steps of the DAO.

Assange has been escaping from US Justice for more than 10 years. When conflict broke by WikiLeaks, the programmer received political asylum for 7 years at the Embassy of Ecuador in London, but was expelled in 2019 and has since been in Belmarsh prison in the capital.
