The asymmetric horror game Dead by Daylight is adding another iconic character to his roster. Well, maybe not so much a character as a very real person. Nicolas Cage comes to the game
Yes, you read it right.
Dead by Daylight is known for adding classic horror characters to the game, drawing from series like resident Evil, Halloween, scream and more. Some Hollywood icons from horror film history have even been added, such as Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams. His next character will apparently take that trend even further by simply adding Nicolas Cage, not one of his characters, but the man himself.
The news comes from a very short teaser video on the Twitter account of Dead by Daylight. The 42-second clip features a voiceover from Cage, who gives a short speech about “transforming everything you think you can know.” The clip ends with his faithfully rendered digital self looking into the camera.
The details on what exactly that means for Dead by Daylight are currently unclear. The video notes that more details will arrive on July 5, so we can only speculate for now. Will he be presented as a monster or a survivor? Will we get different skins that represent the iconic roles of him throughout his career? And will we get a full voice acting of him? We’ll have to wait a few months to find out.
Nicolas Cage is no stranger to the horror genre, so his inclusion isn’t too left-wing. He recently starred in the horror comedy Renfield, where he plays Dracula. Maybe this is all just a joke to confirm that the actor will get a role in the upcoming film adaptation of Dead by Daylight.
