Although not all the municipalities of Edomex suffer from this crime, five are the ones that register the highest rate of robbery to public transport.
According to the Secretary of Public Security of the state, Rodrigo Martinez-Celia, the most affected municipalities are: Cuautitlán Izcalli, Naucalpan, Ecatepec, Nicolás Romero and Tlalnepantla.
The official explained that these data were obtained through the complaints made by the users themselves, even, it has been reported that there are between 10 and 20 assaults in these municipalities per day.
For this reason, the governments of these municipalities launched the “Three Safe Passenger Plan”, with five revision points of the collective transport units.
This project will be carried out in the corridors of the State of Mexico, where this crime is concentrated. Tlalnepantla was the municipality that started this Friday morning with the plan to protect passengers.
