Social networks are sometimes used to discover the strangest trends, although some of them can be quite useful. Now, several people have recounted their experience removing the screens from their MacBook Pros to turn them into makeshift desktops.
When a MacBook breaks its screen from a bump or other reason, it can continue to function as a PC. Therefore, the cases that have been shared on the networks may be quite well founded.
A Twitter user claimed that more and more people were buying a MacBook Pro without a screen to use it as a sort of Mac mini. Not a bad idea, considering that the resulting device has an integrated trackpad and speakers that offer a good sound experience.

DuanRi’s Twitter account explains that people take advantage of only the lower part with the screen removed, connecting the device to a monitor and a mouse, as if it were a normal desktop computer. “Not only does it have a trackpad and keyboard, it also has better speakers and the price is particularly affordable,” she explains.
Other users who promote this trend claim that it is the cheapest way to have an Apple PC. In China, for example, you can buy a 2013 13-inch MacBook Pro without a display with 8GB of RAM and a Core i5 processor for less than $110.

In addition to being an ingenious and cheap solution, turning a MacBook Pro into a desktop computer is a sustainable way to extend the life of these electronic devices.
