Does your company have leftover cables or toilet paper? You can sell them to the CFE through this app

The Federal electricity commission (CFE) officially presented the app CFE Suppliers, with which he intends that any businessman who is interested in selling a product to the State productive company can do so.

Through the application, any micro, small or medium-sized company (MiPymes) will be able to consult the current CFE tenders without the need for prior registration.

At a press conference, CFE executives explained that the interested parties will be able to sell to the State productive company everything from toilet paper, work clothes, cables, fuel, poles to more sophisticated products, such as light meters.

With the launch of this app, the CFE intends to promote greater business participation, streamline and make information transparent, and increase the number of companies that offer services and products, which will lead to better purchasing options at better prices for the company it runs. Manuel Bartlett.

Users will be able to consult in the app a calendar of events, notifications about current contests, status of their offers, register in consortiums and online clarifications.

Marco Antonio López Meléndez, coordinator of technological services, pointed out that the CFE currently has 35,646 national suppliers and 144 foreigners. He added that the development of the application had an initial investment of 600 thousand pesos.

Meanwhile, Rubén Cuevas Plancarte, corporate director of administration, pointed out that in 2021 5.6 percent of the CFE’s acquisitions were direct, while 94.4 of the acquisitions were through open competition.

“All this is part of an anti-corruption action, with the aim of being more transparent and having a level playing field,” he said.

Likewise, Miguel Alejandro López, deputy director of contracting and services of the CFE, pointed out that direct acquisitions cannot disappear completely, since there are occasions in which certain products have a license, and if the procedure is not carried out with a certain supplier, the product warranty could be lost.

The app has been available since September 2021, so it already has 15,751 downloads. It is free to use and available at Play Store, App Gallery y App Store.
