Eat a burger and earn bitcoins: Burger King and Robinhood’s latest idea to attract customers

Burger King believes that it has found the perfect gift to attract and retain customers who buy burgers. Marvel dolls, or a raffle to win a trip to the Caribbean? Nothing of that. The fast food chain will give away cryptocurrencies to everyone who uses your application to order one of their hamburgers.

A bitcoin, an Ethereum or a Dogecoin

For this, Burger King will have a deposit of 20 Bitcoins, 200 Ethereums and 2 million DOGECoins. The conditions they have them in Coindesk And they’re simple: spend more than $ 5 on the Burger King mobile app and have a user account on the Robinhood investment app.

The gift itself will already be a kind of raffle. If you redeem the gift, you will most likely receive a DOGECoin ($ 0.27 today), but one in 10,000 people will receive un Ethereum. AND one in 100,000 people will be very lucky and will receive a Bitcoin. Yes, a full Bitcoin, valued at $ 63,500 as I write these lines.

This could be a breath of fresh air for Robinhood, which had a time when almost became a meme stock but that is now in the doldrums due to a very low rate of new registrations on its platform (its income has fallen by 78%, no less). It will be interesting to see if these types of promotions cause an influx of users: other companies might consider it if it works.
