Elon Musk Says He Doesn’t Find Anything Interesting in the Metaverse | Digital Trends Spanish

The Metaverse and the so-called web3 are what is setting the tone these days among technology companies of all kinds, but there is someone who remains skeptical about what may come: for Elon Musk, the Metaverse is not something as exciting as it is for the rest.

In an interview with the YouTube channel The Babylon Bee, the founder of SpaceX indicates that, in his opinion, the whole concept of a new internet built around technologies such as blockchain sounds more like marketing concepts than reality. The latter may seem strange coming from Elon Musk, a person who has had no trouble embracing cryptocurrencies. But at the same time, Musk himself says he just doesn’t get it.

And regarding the Metaverse, Elon Musk is perhaps more drastic in saying that he is not sure that “putting a television screen on your nose means ‘entering’ the Metaverse as such.”

For Musk, the mere fact that someone wants to use a VR headset all day to be inside a virtual environment is something that does not make much sense. Although at the same time he also recognizes that his perspective has something to do with his age. “Will I be like those people who in 1995 said that the internet was never going to get anywhere?”

Elon Musk also commented on other important topics in modern technology. And one of them has to do with artificial intelligence, the advances that are being made in this area and the need for a regulatory body that can supervise what happens in this area: according to the South African, artificial intelligence is a great threat to humanity.
