The statements made by Elon Musk are always striking. The CEO of SpaceX is constantly giving his opinion on different topics causing controversy on some occasions.
Now, during the Wall Street Journal’s annual CEO days, the mogul expressed concern about the fate of humanity, particularly as people are having few children.
Musk, a father of six, warned about the current low birth rate in the world and the consequences that this trend could have in the future.
“I think one of the biggest risks to civilization is the low birth rate and the rapidly declining birth rate,” the executive noted.
“And yet so many people, including smart people, think that there are too many people in the world and they think the population is growing out of control,” he added.
But Elon Musk went further in his opinion and went so far as to explain what could happen to humanity if the birth rate remains stagnant.
“It is completely the opposite. Look at the numbers, if people don’t have more children, civilization will collapse, keep my words, “he warned.
Finally, and in another opinion that caused controversy, the richest man in the world assured that people over 70 should be prohibited from running for any public office.
“I’m just saying that if we have people in very important positions who have to make decisions that are critical to the security of the country, then they need to have sufficient mind and cognitive presence,” he emphasized.
