Explosion of LP gas in Puebla: Building collapse leaves 1 dead and 15 injured

PUEBLA.- One dead, 15 injured and three people who are still trapped in the rubble, was the balance left by the gas tank explosion in Diagonal Defensores de la República and 2 Poniente avenue, in the San Matías neighborhood of the city of Puebla.

The events were recorded around 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, which caused the collapse of a three-story building, and left the fatal balance indicated.

Behind the SinisterDozens of municipal police officers attended the scene. SUMA paramedics, urban rescuers of Municipal Civil Protection, Red Cross and state firefighters, to care for the injured and start the rescue work of the people who were buried by the rubble, although this work has not yet been completed, for which the condition of the victims is unknown.


The municipal president, Eduardo Rivera Pérez, and the secretary of Citizen Security (SSC), María del Consuelo Cruz Galindo, appeared at the scene to supervise the corresponding work.

The mayor ordered the entry of one to two people per family to proceed with the structural review of their homes, since around 50 people had to be evacuated to prevent them from suffering the consequences of the incident.

A state firefighter was also injured after the first intervention in the area, according to the State Public Security Secretariat (SSP).

Although the preliminary version is that the accident was caused by the explosion of a gas tank, the corresponding expert reports are being carried out.
